Vestmind Lens
Vestmind Lens is our browser extension. You select something financial on a web page, or draw a box around a chart, and Lens draws an explanation on top of it. This section explains what the extension sends, where it goes and what we keep. The rest of this policy applies to anything you do on vestmind.in. What Vestmind Lens does and how to install it.
- When it runs
- Lens does nothing until you use it. That means clicking its toolbar icon, choosing Explain with Vestmind Lens from the right-click menu, using its keyboard shortcut, or clicking its V button. It does not read pages in the background and does not record your browsing history.
- What it sends
- Only when you ask for an explanation, Lens sends:
- the text you selected and any question you type;
- the surrounding paragraph and headings;
- the page's title and address;
- your earlier questions in the same conversation, for follow-ups;
- for a chart, table or region you draw around, a screenshot cropped to that area in your browser before it is sent;
- for a paused video, its title, channel, description and the captions around that moment.
- Where it goes
- To the Vestmind service at vestmind.in and nowhere else. To write the explanation, we pass this content to Google's Gemini AI service, which processes it on our behalf. We do not sell it or share it with advertisers.
- What we keep
- We keep each explanation for up to 30 days so you can ask follow-up questions, then it is deleted automatically. It includes your selection, question, the surrounding text and the explanation. We never store screenshots or video captions. When an explanation is about a market event, such as an RBI rate decision, we also keep a record of that event: its public facts plus the address and title of the page it came from. That record contains nothing that identifies you.
- What it never collects
- Lens has no login and does not access your Vestmind account. It does not collect passwords or anything you type into forms, and it does not read your other tabs. Explanations requested from the extension are not linked to you. To prevent abuse, we use your IP address briefly, in hashed form, to limit how many requests one connection can make. Our product analytics count how Lens is used, for example whether an explanation was produced and whether you found it useful. They never include your selected text, your questions or page addresses.
- Your choices
- Your Lens settings stay in your browser. When you install Lens, it offers once to show its Vestmind (“V”) button on every site, and your browser asks for your permission first. If you decline, Lens only acts on a tab after you invoke it there. You can turn the button on or off, or remove the permission, at any time. Uninstalling the extension removes it and its settings. To have an explanation deleted before 30 days, write to support@vestmind.in.
