# VestCall — AI stock analysis

> VestCall is Vestmind's AI stock analysis product. It assembles a complete view of a listed Indian company — business quality, financial history, valuation zones, analyst consensus, the investment case and the risks against it — and states what changed and why it matters.

Most stock research answers a question nobody asked: is this a buy. The questions investors actually have are what this business does and how well, what it is worth on reasonable assumptions, what has to be true for the optimistic case, and what has changed since they last looked. VestCall answers those, and shows what it used to answer them.

## What VestCall looks at

- **Business quality.** What the company sells, to whom, how profitably, and how durable that profitability has been.
- **Financial history.** Revenue, margin, return on capital, cash conversion and leverage over a full cycle rather than the last four quarters.
- **Valuation.** Where the current price sits against the company's own history and against comparable businesses.
- **Analyst consensus.** What the sell side expects, treated as one input with a known bias rather than as a verdict.
- **Risks.** The specific things that would make the investment case wrong, named.
- **Changes.** What is materially different since the last analysis — results, guidance, ownership, regulation.

## What VestCall does

- **Ask a question about a company.** A question in plain language, answered against that company's filings and financial history.
- **Valuation zones.** A range with the assumptions attached, rather than a single target price that hides them.
- **The bull and the bear case.** Both stated properly. A thesis with no credible case against it has not been examined.
- **Quality over a cycle.** Metrics read across years, because one good quarter and a durable business look identical in a single snapshot.
- **What changed.** The delta since the last time the company was analysed, so following a holding does not mean re-reading everything.

## How VestCall works

1. **Assemble.** Filings, exchange disclosures, reported financials and price history for the company are gathered.
2. **Normalise.** Financials are put on a consistent basis so periods and peers are comparable.
3. **Assess quality.** Returns on capital, margin stability, cash conversion and leverage are read across a full cycle.
4. **Value.** Valuation is expressed as zones derived from stated assumptions, with the assumptions shown and changeable.
5. **State the case.** The investment case and the case against it are written from the same evidence.
6. **Attribute.** Every figure carries its source and its period, so a number can be checked rather than trusted.

## Who VestCall is for

- **Before you buy.** You have a company in mind and want the case for it and against it in one place before you commit money.
- **A company you already own.** You want to know what has changed since you bought it, without re-reading every filing.
- **Checking a tip.** Somebody recommended a stock, and you want to see whether the price already assumes the story you were told.
- **Learning to read a company.** You want to see how business quality, valuation and the Street view fit together, with the working shown.

## VestCall in practice (illustrative example)

**How VestCall reads an illustrative private-sector bank.** A large listed bank trading at ₹1,640, found by searching its NSE ticker.

- **4 zones instead of one price target.** Modelled fair value runs from ₹1,480 to ₹1,790. At ₹1,640 the price sits inside the fair-value zone — neither cheap nor stretched.
- **16.8% return on equity, against a 15% test.** The quality test passes, and the page shows the reported figures the ratio was computed from.
- **3 quarters of loans growing faster than deposits.** Flagged as the challenge to the thesis worth watching: pressure on funding costs if it continues.
- **Kept apart the Street view.** Analyst ratings and targets are shown as third-party opinion and never blended into Vestmind's own reading.

The output is a reasoned position — where the price sits against modelled value, what supports the case and what would break it — not a call to buy or sell.

## VestCall compared with the alternatives

| Approach | What it tells you | What it cannot see |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Stock screener | Which companies pass the filters you set. | Why a company passes, what its price assumes, and what would change the case. |
| Broker research report | One analyst's view and price target. | Where that view sits against the rest of the Street, and a valuation independent of it. |
| News and social media | What happened today. | Whether it matters to the business or to the valuation. |
| SEBI-registered research analyst | A regulated recommendation. | Nothing in principle — but coverage is limited to the companies they follow. |
| VestCall | Business quality, valuation zones, the Street view and the thesis for any listed Indian company, with every figure sourced. | A recommendation to buy or sell: VestCall states a reasoned position, not advice. |

## Your data

- **Read-only by construction.** Vestmind reads holdings, positions and balances. No broker adapter implements an order method, so there is no code path that could buy, sell or move anything.
- **Secrets stay on the server.** Broker API secrets and access tokens never reach your browser, and the page never calls a broker directly. The exchange happens between Vestmind's servers and the broker.
- **Not sold, not shared.** Portfolio data is used to produce your analysis and is never sold. It is shared only with the providers needed to deliver the service, such as your broker, or where the law requires.
- **Your control.** Connect or disconnect any source, update your information, download your data or request deletion at any time.

## Common questions about VestCall

### What is VestCall?

VestCall is Vestmind's AI stock analysis product. It assembles a complete view of a listed Indian company — business quality, financial history, valuation zones, analyst consensus, the investment case and the risks against it — and states what has changed since the last analysis.

### Is VestCall free?

Yes. VestCall is free to use, and reading an analysis needs no account: search any NSE or BSE listed company by name or ticker and the full analysis opens — fair value zones, business quality, key ratios, the case for and against, and the risks. An account only adds your own holding to the page.

### How do I find the fair value of an Indian stock?

Start from what the business earns and how well, then ask what multiple a business of that quality and growth has warranted against its own sector, and apply it. VestCall does exactly that: it computes a quality-adjusted fair value from the company's returns, growth and sector cohort, then draws valuation zones around it — deeply discounted, attractive, fairly valued, premium — and shows where today's price sits, with every assumption visible. It is an estimate under stated assumptions, not a price target.

### Which companies can VestCall analyse?

Any NSE or BSE listed company, searched by name or ticker. For the most widely held — HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, TCS, Infosys, ITC, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel and around ninety more — VestCall also publishes a standing analysis page at vestmind.in/stocks, refreshed from the live engine, which you can read and link to without opening the app.

### Can AI analyse Indian stocks?

It can do the parts of stock analysis that are assembly and comparison — reading filings, normalising financials across periods and peers, computing returns on capital and valuation multiples, and tracking what changed — quickly and consistently. It cannot know what a business will do next. VestCall is built around that boundary: it does the assembly, shows its sources, and leaves the judgement, which is where the actual investment decision lives, to the investor.

### What does VestCall analyse?

Listed Indian companies: what the business does, its revenue, margin, return on capital, cash conversion and leverage across a cycle, its valuation against its own history and its peers, sell-side consensus, and the risks specific to it.

### How does VestCall value a company?

As a range, not a number. Valuation zones are derived from explicit assumptions about growth, margin and the multiple the market is willing to pay, and those assumptions are shown alongside the zone. A single price target is a range with its assumptions hidden.

### Does VestCall give buy or sell recommendations?

No. It states the investment case, the case against it, and the valuation zones with their assumptions, and leaves the decision to the investor. Vestmind is not a registered investment adviser and nothing it produces is personalised investment advice.

### How is VestCall different from a screener?

A screener filters companies by numbers you already know to ask for. VestCall explains one company: why the numbers are what they are, how durable they have been, what the price implies, and what would have to change for the case to break.

### What sources does VestCall use?

Company filings and exchange disclosures, reported financial statements, price history, and published analyst estimates. Each figure in an analysis carries the source and the period it came from.

### Who is VestCall for?

Indian investors who buy individual stocks and want the assembly work done properly before they make a judgement — and investors who hold stocks already and want to know what has changed without re-reading every filing.

### Does VestCall cover mutual funds?

Fund analysis belongs to VestFolio, which looks through funds to the securities they hold. VestCall analyses the companies — including the companies a fund holds, which is how a finding in VestFolio leads into a company analysis here.

### How often is a company analysis updated?

Around the events that change it: results, guidance, material disclosures and significant price moves. The "what changed" section exists so a returning investor reads the delta rather than the whole analysis again.
